I never understood this - let's built a car from the ground up, not reusing a single component from the S Class. And let's make it look indistinguishable from the S-Class (except for car nerds). One thing that I really hope would catch on: the solar panel on the roof to power the A/C or the heating. I would really love for my car to store electricity using solar panel to warm it up, defrost, etc. during winter.

Doug, I like your car reviews a lot. They are very informative and often include peculiarities of certain makes and models, that would be hard to learn about from any other source. It's your huge strength since no one else does car reviews in similar style. That being said, I have one complaint. That creepy smile idiosyncrasy (like in this video at 4:04) is a tiny bit disturbing. If you could tone it down your videos would be perfect.

Doug, as a tall guy, what is the most comfortable cars you've sat in? (Leg/headroom, seat big enough, visibility). I'm 6'4" and in my experience I find 99% of cars are to small to sit upright in, and if you can, usually a B pillar is so far forward you can't see out the side without leaning forward (dangerous design). Then the seats; the metal frame curves up at an average of 14" wide, being tall, hips are wider and,, I've had to modify seats of modern cars to be able to sit "in the seat" and not "on" them, which also helps with headroom.

It's a shame a car like this would have been timeless until they started adding technologies in it like those tacky RCA jacks.

The big problem with the Maybach was that it was already outdated in 2005. The whole interior is similar to the S Class W220 and this was already replaced by the W221 in 2005. The S Class W221 was much more modern and stylish than the Maybach, Mercedes should have given the Maybach a major facelift in 2006 to keep up with the W221 S Class.

There are a couple of companies that will upgrade the 62 with modern nav and electronics. It doesn't come cheap, but then again if you have that kind of money you don't care about the cost.
